Meet our ex-PBA champion coach! Jonathan Fernandez!

Born raised in Binalonan, Pangasinan, with height of 6’2 feet and playing position as shooting guard or small forward, Fernandez started and made an impact as a player in Metro Manila as he participate and represent Philippines in RP Youth SEABA Tournament where he hailed as champion. He continues his journey and played for the National University in the UAAP at the collegiate level where he trained his skills.

Coach Jonathan played in the Philippine Basketball League or PBL for the Harbour Centre Team and secured his four (4) championships from 2006 – 2008. On his success to PBL, Coach Jonathan again find his career on as 6th draft pick 2nd round on the top basketball league in the Philippines, the PBA (Philippine Basketball Association) where he played for the Magnolia and Purefoods from 2008 – 2011. He won his PBA championship along with Purefoods superstars. On his career finale in Philippine league, he joined Asean Basketball League (ABL) and represent the Philippine Patriots 2014.

After the long journey in Philippines, he continues his passion in United Arab Emirates and established his name as one of the ace players and well-known active player in Dubai. Coach Jonathan along with our Head Coach Arnold Booker bags multiple championships and awards from season MVP to Mythical Five in different basketball league categories.

Coach Jonathan is now representing UIG Sports Services helping our young generations to develop, polish their skills and share his experience to become a champion! Meet him and learn with him through our Basketball Fundamentals and Skills Development Training Camp every weekend in Dubai, UAE.
